Match Analysis: Toss: India. Azharuddin secured the Asia Cup and the Man of the Match award with an unbeaten 58 in a final postponed for 24 hours and then shortened by rain. The game was also notable for a hat-trick from Kapil Dev, who had Mahanama caught behind off the last ball of an over, and removed Jayasuriya and Ratnayake with the first two balls of his next. Sri Lanka were thus reduced from 176 for five, a score owing much to the 58-run fourth-wicket stand between Gurusinha and Ranatunga (56 balls), to 181 for eight. India lost their openers cheaply, but they were rescued by a third-wicket partnership of 91 from Manjrekar, whose undefeated 71 anchored the innings, and Tendulkar.
Infosacten Report: India had reached the finals of the Asia Cup 1990/91. Tendulakar played a vital role in this final by scoring 53 runs off 70 balls before getting lbw to Ratnayake.

Match Analysis: Toss: Sri Lanka. Openers Senanayake and Tillekeratne gave them a steady start, which was built on with a fourth-wicket partnership of 73 from Gurusinha and the captain, Ranatunga. Although the tail folded fairly quickly they were able to set a target of 215, to which India proved quite unequal. The fielding of Jayasuriya accounted for both Shastri and Manjrekar, and he also picked up the wicket of Azharuddin, who made his 40 from 61 balls. India's chances of recovery were dashed when Ratnayake, who finished with three for 24, bowled Kapil Dev after he had hit a 35-ball 32.

Match Analysis: Toss: Bangladesh. India had no problem overhauling Bangladesh's 170 with 13.1 overs to spare, though their inexperienced visitors deserved some credit for surviving 50 overs for the loss of only six wickets. Sidhu's unbeaten 104, from 109 balls, included ten fours and three sixes, and he shared an opening stand of 121 with Raman. Bangladesh had recovered from a shaky start of 28 for two when Faruq Ahmed and Ather Ali Khan, both of whom were dropped off the bowling of Wassan, shared a third-wicket stand of 108. But the batsmen who followed could add only 34 in the last nine overs; it was never going to be enough.

Match Analysis: Toss: India. The home team paid the penalty for their decision, based on the premise that the pitch would deteriorate, to bat first. Ramanayake bowled a tight line at medium pace to pick up the first three wickets, and Anurasiri and Warnaweera, with contrasting spin, sent the others sliding to a poor total of 136, with nearly ten overs unused. India's hopes of making a fight of it, when Sri Lanka's openers went cheaply, were dispelled by De Silva, who waited for the loose ball to drive, cut or pull. His captain, Arjuna Ranatunga, was the ideal foil, and their unbroken stand of 82 made a telling contrast with the Indians' surrender to their apprehensions about the pitch. De Silva struck eleven fours and scored 63 in 76 balls, steering his team to Sri Lanka's second one-day international victory in India.
Infosacten Report : Sachin scored a quickfire 30 from 29 balls with 2 6s and a 4. Surprisingly after his impressive performance with the ball in the previous match, he didn't get to bowl a single over

Match Analysis: Toss: India. The Indians changed their strategy, putting their visitors in to exploit the early damp conditions, and Sri Lanka's slow progress seemed to vindicate the decision, until the left-handers, Gurusinha and Arjuna Ranatunga, pushed the score along in a stand of 97. The turning-point was Tendulkar's misfield and subsequent throw from long-on to run out Ranatunga. India's reply began with well-paced stand of 76, but when the openers went, Manjrekar and Azharuddin were pegged down by spin. Again it was Tendulkar who tilted the scales: he hit 53 from 40 balls, with seven fours and a six. Azharuddin had the satisfaction of striking the winning runs as India registered their second one-day series triumph under his captaincy.

Match Analysis: Toss: Sri Lanka. India's victory was built on a solid opening partnership of 133, after impressive seam bowling from the Sri Lankans had restricted Shastri and Sidhu to 67 from the first 25 overs. They almost doubled that score in the next five overs of spin, and Tendulkar enlivened proceedings with a 22-ball 36 (three fours and two sixes, both off Labrooy). As the innings closed Shastri reached his hundred, which had taken 147 balls and included twelve fours and a six. Sri Lanka's run-chase centred around the brilliance of De Silva. After early setbacks, when three batsmen fell for 21 runs, his stand of 94 with Tillekeratne looked like putting the match in the balance. However, the rising run-rate proved too much for him, and he was out soon after completing his maiden century in one-day internationals, from 118 balls.

Match Analysis: Toss: India. The Indian batsmen revelled gloriously in ideal batting conditions; England's failed to do them, or themselves, justice. Gooch lost his off stump in the fourth over, offering no stroke to an in-swinger, and Gower and Lamb had been run out by the twentieth over. Smith gave the innings its purpose, reaching fifty from 42 balls and thumping most of the eleven fours in his 103 (105 balls). Admirable partnerships with Atherton and Russell made the scorecard read 246 when he got out @ the 49th over. The remaining 5 managed only 35. Cameos from Sidhu, Vengsarkar, Shastri and a patient knock from Manjrekar held India's hopes together. India required 145 from the last twenty overs, and Tendulkar scored 31 from 26 balls adding 63 in seven overs with the felicitous Azharuddin, who went on to score 63 from 44 balls as India again won with two overs in hand.
